Trade Watchdog to Impose Preliminary Antidumping Tariff on Chinese Stainless Steel Plates

Seoul: South Korea's trade commission on Thursday made a preliminary decision to impose an antidumping tariff on Chinese stainless steel plates after its initial investigation identified potential damage to the domestic industry. Under the decision, the Korea Trade Commission will ask the Ministry of Economy and Finance to impose an antidumping tariff of 21.62 percent on the related imports before the final ruling is delivered.

According to Yonhap News Agency, DK Corp. filed a complaint with the commission in June, claiming stainless steel plates from four Chinese companies were being imported at prices below reasonable market levels. The stainless steel plates are widely used across various industries, including petrochemical, shipbuilding, and semiconductor sectors.

The final verdict is expected to be delivered in June.
