Memphis: A trio of South Korean mainstays on the PGA Tour will compete in the annual playoffs starting this week. Kim Si-woo, Tom Kim, and Im Sung-jae have all qualified for the FedEx Cup playoffs, which will begin Thursday with the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, Tennessee.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the top 70 players in the FedEx Cup points rankings are eligible for the first leg of the playoffs. The top 50 players after the Memphis tournament will advance to the second event, the BMW Championship, scheduled for next week. Subsequently, the top 30 players following the BMW tournament will qualify for the playoff finale, the Tour Championship, set for August 27-30.

Kim Si-woo enters the playoffs as the highest-ranked South Korean at No. 7. Notably, he is the highest-ranked player without a win this year, achieving this by ranking second on the tour with 10 top-10 finishes, just one behind world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. Tom Kim, who recently ended a three-year title drought by winning the Genesis Scottish Open, is ranked at No. 26. He solidified his position in the playoffs by tying for fifth at the final regular-season event, the Wyndham Championship, in North Carolina.

Meanwhile, Im Sung-jae finds himself on the cusp for the second leg of the playoffs at No. 53. Im, who has participated in each of the past seven Tour Championships, the longest streak by a South Korean player, will need a strong performance in the upcoming tournaments to maintain his playoff streak. Despite missing the first two months of the season due to a wrist injury, he has managed three top-10 finishes in 20 starts this year.
