– Vietnam and Luxembourg boast high potential to collaborate in many areas, especially finance, logistics and sustainable development in adaptation to climate change, heard the Vietnam-Luxembourg Business Forum held in Ho Chi Minh City on May 5.

Addressing the event, Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel underlined that Vietnam is an important partner of Luxembourg in many aspects, and one of the countries in which his country invests great resources to promote partnership with. – The Government convened the regular April meeting under the chair of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on May 5 to look into the socio-economic situation in April and the first four months of 2023, along with some other important issues.

– The “Le khao le the linh Hoang Sa” (Feast and Commemoration Festival for Hoang Sa Soldiers) took place at An Vinh communal house in Ly Son district, the central province of Quang Ngai, on May 5 or 16th days of the third lunar month.

- The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) will conduct a comprehensive inspection over TikTok's activities in Vietnam from May 15, given its continuous and regular violations, the ministry announced on May 5.

– The Viet – Smart Tourist Card was officially launched by Tourism Information Technology Centre (TITC) under the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism on May 5.

– The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap is rolling out measures to protect and develop the population of red-headed cranes, an endangered bird species listed in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)’s Red List of Threatened Species spotted at Tram Chim National Park.

They are found in India, Australia and some Southeast Asian countries, including Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. In the past 10 years, in Cambodia and Vietnam, wild red-headed crane populations have declined rapidly from 850 individuals in 2010 to just under 160 recorded in 2022. – Rice exports in April 2023 were estimated at 1.1 million tonnes with a value of 573.9 million USD, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reported.

The April figures have brought the total volume and value of rice exports in the first four months of the year to 2.95 million tonnes with 1.56 billion USD, up 43.6% in volume and 54.5% in value over the same period in 2022.
