Seoul: K-pop sensation Stray Kids has once again demonstrated its global musical dominance by securing the top spot on the U.S. Billboard's main albums chart for the seventh time with its newest album, "Karma." This remarkable achievement further solidifies their position in the music industry as a leading K-pop act.

According to Yonhap News Agency, "Karma" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, dethroning Morgan Wallen's "I'm the Problem," as revealed in a chart preview released on Sunday. This milestone marks Stray Kids' seventh album to reach the pinnacle of the chart, following the success of previous albums "Oddinary," "Maxident," "5-Star," "Rock-Star," "Ate," and "Hop."

Expressing their gratitude, Stray Kids shared through their agency, JYP Entertainment, "It's unbelievable, and we're stunned. It's such an honor and a marvel." They extended heartfelt thanks to their fans, Stay, and everyone who supports their music. This achievement has propelled Stray Kids past BTS, making them the K-pop act with the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200.

Notably, Stray Kids has made history as the only act on Billboard to have all seven of its albums debut at No. 1. Billboard highlighted, "Last year, when 'Hop' debuted atop the list, Stray Kids became the first act to debut at No. 1 with their first six entries in the 69-year history of the chart. With 'Karma's arrival, they extend that record."

The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums in the United States based on equivalent album units, which include physical album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). For "Karma," Stray Kids earned a total of 313,000 units, with an impressive 296,000 from physical album sales, marking a record in the group's history. The remaining units were comprised of 16,000 SEA and 1,000 TEA.

In the same week, the "KPop Demon Hunters" soundtrack maintained its second position for the fifth consecutive week, earning 125,000 equivalent album units, a 16 percent increase from the previous week. Billboard attributed the gain to the film's sing-along release in theaters and on Netflix, as well as the soundtrack's availability on CD.

"Karma" is Stray Kids' first full-length album in over two years, featuring 11 tracks, including the lead single "Ceremony." The album explores themes of personal growth and resilience, as the members share their journey of forging their own path amidst challenges and doubts. At a recent press conference in Seoul, rapper Changbin reflected on their journey, "Looking back on our early years, we often questioned whether the music we were making was the right path. But thanks to the trust of our members and Stay, we gained confidence and kept working hard. That's how we overcame hardships, and now we're living a dreamlike moment."

Stray Kids has captivated audiences worldwide with its distinctive sound, primarily crafted by the group's in-house producer team 3Racha, consisting of Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han. Their intense, hip-hop-based music, often referred to as "mala-flavored music" by fans, along with their dynamic performances, has significantly contributed to their growing international fandom.
