Stocks on KOSPI 200 Show Mixed Performance Amidst Declines in Key Shares

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index showed a mixed performance on Friday with several stocks experiencing declines in closing prices, while a few registered gains. Among the notable decliners, Nongshim's shares dropped by 2,500 KRW to close at 410,000 KRW, and Hyundai Elevator's shares fell significantly by 2,400 KRW, ending the day at 78,400 KRW.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other major stocks such as Shinsegae and SAMSUNG C and T also saw noteworthy decreases, with Shinsegae down by 1,200 KRW to 165,300 KRW and SAMSUNG C and T declining by 1,300 KRW to 167,800 KRW. LOTTE WELLFOOD and COSMAX were among the stocks with the largest drops, closing at 116,200 KRW and 216,500 KRW, respectively, with decreases of 2,300 KRW and 2,500 KRW.

Conversely, some stocks exhibited positive movement, with HankukCarbon seeing a substantial rise of 1,550 KRW to close at 32,900 KRW. Hanwha Ocean also recorded an increase, gaining 2,200 KRW to finish at 112,000 KRW. Other gainers included ORION Holdings and SBHC, which increased by 200 KRW and 300 KRW, closing at 20,750 KRW and 27,900 KRW, respectively.

The mixed performance of the KOSPI 200 reflects varying investor sentiment across different sectors, with some stocks managing to buck the overall trend of declines.
