Stock Market Sees Mixed Movement as KOSPI 200 Closes with Gains and Losses

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index showcased a mix of gains and losses as it closed on a varied note with significant movements in several stocks. Prominent names in the index such as Samsung Biologics and HanmiPharm experienced noteworthy gains. Samsung Biologics led the upward trend with an increase of 40,000 KRW, closing at 1,609,000 KRW, while HanmiPharm rose by 5,500 KRW to end at 413,000 KRW.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other stocks also recorded increases, with KOLMAR KOREA climbing by 2,000 KRW to a closing price of 107,900 KRW. SD Biosensor and Meritz Financial saw moderate rises of 160 KRW and 300 KRW, closing at 6,790 KRW and 123,800 KRW, respectively. DoubleUGames and Netmarble also ended the day on a positive note with slight increases.

On the downside, Hankook Tire and Technology experienced a significant drop of 4,500 KRW, closing at 65,500 KRW. HD Hyundai Electric faced a decrease of 25,000 KRW, settling at 739,000 KRW. Hyosung TNC also saw a steep decline, dropping 18,500 KRW to close at 331,000 KRW. Other notable declines were observed in Hanwha Systems and SK Square, which fell by 4,300 KRW and 4,000 KRW, respectively.

The mixed performance of the KOSPI 200 index reflects the varied investor sentiments across different sectors. While some companies showed positive momentum, others faced downward pressure, demonstrating the complex dynamics of the current market environment.
