Nagoya:South Korea's high jumper Woo Sang-hyeok secured the bronze medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, marking his third consecutive Asiad medal. He achieved a jump of 2.22 meters, finishing third in the men's high jump final at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium in Nagoya, Japan.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Fu Chao-hsuan of Chinese Taipei clinched the gold medal by clearing 2.25 meters on his first attempt. Meanwhile, Sarvesh Kushare Anil of India took the silver after successfully jumping the same height on his second attempt.

Woo's performance fell short of his outdoor personal best of 2.35 meters, which he set during the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and matched at the 2021 World Championships. In the final competition, Woo, along with Fu and Kushare Anil, initially cleared 2.22 meters.

When the bar was raised to 2.25 meters, both Kushare Anil and Woo missed their first attempts, while Fu succeeded. Woo failed again on his second attempt, whereas Kushare Anil cleared the height. Woo then attempted to raise the bar to 2.28 meters but was unable to clear it, solidifying his bronze medal position.

Defending Asian Games champion Mutaz Barshim of Qatar, who holds the Asian record of 2.43 meters, did not participate in the competition.
