South Korea’s Industrial Output Rebounds by 2.5 Percent in February

Seoul: South Korea's industrial output rebounded last month, driven by gains in manufacturing and services, government data showed Tuesday. Industrial production rose 2.5 percent from a month earlier in February, following a 1.3 percent on-month decline in January.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the data from the Ministry of Data and Statistics showed that retail sales, a key indicator of private spending, remained unchanged from the previous month. While sales declined in semidurable goods, such as clothing, there was an increase in food and beverage products.

Facility investment saw a significant increase of 13.5 percent on-month, primarily due to heightened investment in machinery and transportation equipment.
