Nagoya:South Korea was disqualified from the men's 4x100-meter relay at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games due to a faulty baton exchange.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the disqualification occurred during the heats at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium. The team, consisting of Kim Si-on, Joel Jin Nwamadi, Daniel Biwesa, and Lee Jae-seong, faced this setback following a violation involving the baton exchange between Kim and Nwamadi.

Coach Ha Kyung-su expressed disagreement with the decision, stating that an appeal was filed because they could not accept the ruling. As a result of the disqualification, South Korea was unable to advance to the event's final, scheduled for Monday.

The team had been aiming for a medal in the relay event, particularly with strong performances from Nwamadi and Biwesa, who placed fourth and fifth in the men's 100-meter race earlier in the Games.
