Seoul: The South Korean hospitality house for the Asian Games opened in the Japanese city of Nagoya on Friday, aiming to support Korean athletes and welcome visitors from around the world. This initiative comes amid the increasing global popularity of South Korean culture and tourism.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Korea House is established at Lives Nagoya, a versatile live music venue and event space located on the southern coast of the city. The Korean Sport and Olympic Committee (KSOC) will manage Korea House until October 3, just a day before the closing ceremony of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, which spans 16 days.

The opening ceremony was graced by KSOC President Ryu Seung-min and Sports Minister Chae Hwi-young, along with several International Olympic Committee (IOC) members and representatives from national Olympic committees. The newly elected South Korean member of the IOC Athletes' Commission, Won Yun-jong, was also present. The event showcased dynamic Korean culture and sports, highlighted by a taekwondo demonstration and a performance by B-boy crew Fusion MC.

Ryu emphasized that "Korea House is a place where people meet and connect with each other to share their new experiences." He expressed hope that during the competition, people would enjoy and share the energy and diversity of Korean culture as well as Team Korea's passion.

The KSOC highlighted that Korea House will function as a venue promoting South Korean culture and tourism at multisport events, serving as a hub for sports diplomacy.
