Tokyo:Kim Su-ji and Kim Na-hyun achieved a significant milestone for South Korea by winning silver in the women's synchronized 3-meter springboard diving event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. This marks South Korea's best performance in this event since 2002.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the duo scored 254.70 points during their five dives at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. However, they were outperformed by China's Chen Yiwen and Chen Jia, who took the gold with 328.56 points.

The Malaysian team, consisting of Ker Ying Ong and Yiat Qing Lee, secured the bronze medal with 243.72 points. The women's synchronized 3-meter event has been part of the Asian Games since 2002, when it debuted in Busan, South Korea. China has consistently dominated the event, winning every gold medal to date. This victory marked Chen Yiwen's second consecutive gold in the competition.

In the inaugural year, South Korea's Kang Min-kyung and Im Sung-young earned silver, but the country faced a medal drought in the following editions until Kim Su-ji clinched a bronze with Park Ha-reum in 2023. Kim Na-hyun has now added two medals to her tally in her Asian Games debut, having previously secured a bronze in the women's synchronized 10m platform event with Moon Na-hyun.
