South Korea Expands Flight Routes to Hungary and Austria Following New Agreements

Seoul: South Korea has agreed to increase the number of flights to and from Hungary and Austria following recent aviation talks with the countries, a move expected to improve travel options for tourists and business people, the transport ministry said Wednesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the latest round of talks with Hungary was held last Wednesday in Budapest, where the countries agreed to increase flights between the two nations. A similar deal was reached in talks with Austria, held in Vienna on Thursday, as outlined by the ministry.

Under the agreement with Hungary, passenger traffic rights between all airports were expanded from six flights per week to 14. Meanwhile, under the deal with Austria, flights between the countries will increase to 21 from four each week. The countries also agreed to create additional routes connecting South Korea with regional cities of Austria outside of Vienna in the future.

The ministry stated that the move reflects growing demand among South Korean travelers for direct routes to various European destinations. "The expanded agreements are expected to significantly enhance travel convenience and options for South Korean passengers," said Joo Jong-wan, director general for aviation policy at the ministry.
