Okazaki:The four-time defending champion South Korea extended its baseball winning streak to three games at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games with a decisive 18-1 victory over Thailand on Wednesday. This match took place at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Baseball Stadium, situated approximately 50 kilometers southeast of Nagoya, Japan.

According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korea's Park Jae-hyun and Park Jun-soon each hit a grand slam during Group B action, although South Korea conceded a run for the first time in the tournament. By winning all three games in the group phase, South Korea secured a place in the Super Round, where it will compete against the top two qualifiers from Group A for a chance to vie for a medal.

The Super Round games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, with the gold medal match set for Sunday at Toyohashi Municipal Baseball Stadium, located around 85 kilometers southeast of Nagoya.

In the game against Thailand, South Korea scored thrice in the first inning, thanks to a sacrifice fly from Roh Si-hwan and a two-run home run by Moon Bo-gyeong. Park Jae-hyun's grand slam in the second inning increased the lead to 7-0, and three additional runs in the third inning further extended the advantage.

South Korea continued its dominant performance with an eight-run fourth inning, highlighted by Park Jun-soon's grand slam. Although Thailand managed to score a run in the top of the fifth inning, the game concluded due to the mercy rule. The rule specifies that games end if a team leads by 15 runs after five innings or 10 runs after seven innings.

South Korean starter Oh Won-seok delivered a strong performance, pitching four scoreless innings and striking out seven batters.
