Seoul: Residents in South Korea's major cities are preparing for a heatwave as the weather forecast predicts high temperatures on Monday. According to Yonhap News Agency, temperatures are set to soar as high as 39 degrees Celsius in cities like Gwangju and Daegu, with most other cities experiencing temperatures above 34 degrees Celsius.

The forecast indicates that Seoul, Incheon, Suwon, and Cheongju will all experience cloudy conditions, with no chance of rain, and temperatures reaching up to 37 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, cities like Daejeon, Chuncheon, Jeonju, Gwangju, Daegu, and Busan are expected to have sunny weather with temperatures ranging from 35 to 39 degrees Celsius.

Gangneung stands out with a possibility of 20% rain, despite being predominantly cloudy, and Jeju also has a slight 10% chance of rain while remaining sunny. The forecast underscores the need for residents to take precautions against the heat, with special attention to staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged sun exposure.
