Slight Decline in S. Korean Bond Yields Observed

Seoul: South Korean bond yields experienced a minor decline across several tenures on January 16, 2026. The 1-year Treasury Bond yield fell slightly to 2.556% from the previous session's 2.558%, marking a decrease of 0.2 basis points. Meanwhile, the 2-year Treasury Bond yield decreased by 1.7 basis points, settling at 2.879% compared to 2.896% in the previous session. The 3-year Treasury Bond also saw a drop, with its yield moving from 3.090% to 3.080%, a change of 1.0 basis point.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the 10-year Treasury Bond yield experienced a minor decline, decreasing by 0.5 basis points to 3.488% from 3.493%. In contrast, the 2-year Monetary Stabilization Bond yield saw a slight increase of 0.1 basis point, moving to 2.929% from 2.928%. The 3-year Corporate Bond with an AA- rating recorded a reduction, with its yield dropping to 3.560% from 3.565%, reflecting a change of 0.5 basis points.

The 91-day Certificate of Deposit yield remained unchanged at 2.680%, showing no variation compared to the previous session. The shifts in the bond yields reflect the current market conditions and investor sentiment in South Korea's financial markets.
