Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index has revealed a significant downturn in its latest closing prices, with the majority of companies experiencing declines. Notable decreases were observed in major firms such as HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and Samsung SDI Co., Ltd.
According to Yonhap News Agency, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries saw a decrease of 27,000, closing at 524,000, while Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. dropped by 9,500 to settle at 293,500. Other significant declines included KPIC, down by 5,000 to 151,000, and LG Innotek, which fell by 7,500 to 280,000.
The report further highlights that several companies experienced smaller declines. For instance, GS E and C decreased by 260 to 19,520, while ISU PETASYS saw a drop of 6,900, closing at 123,900. Similarly, Samsung Heavy Industries and Youngone Holdings both faced a decline of 800, ending at 24,900 and 197,000, respectively.
Despite the overall downward trend, some companies bucked the trend with positive performances. Samsung Securities increased by 300, closing at 78,900, and KEPCO also rose by 300 to 50,300. Additionally, LOTTE WELLFOOD and Samsung Card experienced increases of 1,400 and 1,200, closing at 121,600 and 56,000, respectively.
In summary, the KOSPI 200 index reflects a challenging day for the majority of its listed entities, with only a few companies managing to register gains amidst widespread declines.
