Seoul: Subway services in Seoul were increased by 20 runs during the morning rush hour Friday to ease traffic after heavy snowfall the previous night, the metropolitan government said.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the capital city received its first snow of the season Thursday evening, with over 5 centimeters of snowfall per hour and prompting an emergency disaster alert.

The Seoul metropolitan government said in addition to the subway increases, it has also extended the morning peak bus dispatch hours by 30 minutes. All road closures caused by the snow were lifted overnight.
