Samsung to Unveil Trifold Smartphone in December

Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. is set to release its innovative trifold smartphone next month, with industry insiders revealing a price tag of approximately 4 million won (US$2,720).

According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean technology leader plans to hold a launch event for the trifold smartphone on December 5, with domestic sales commencing shortly after. The smartphone is designed to fold twice into three sections, offering users a tablet-sized 10-inch display when fully unfolded, while retaining the portability of a standard smartphone when closed.

Samsung Electronics intends to introduce the trifold smartphone initially in key markets, including China, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates, as reported by the sources. The device's pricing is expected to range from just under 3 million won to over 4 million won.

For context, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, released in July, was priced at 2.37 million won for the 256GB model in the local market. Industry analysts anticipate that Samsung will release approximately 20,000 to 30,000 units during the initial launch phase.
