Seoul: Samsung Life Insurance Co. reported a third-quarter net profit of 760.9 billion won (US$517.9 million) on Thursday, showing a 6.6 percent increase from the same period last year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's regulatory filing revealed that its operating income for the July-September period saw a 2.5 percent rise on-year, reaching 815.8 billion won. Additionally, the firm's sales jumped by 35.1 percent to 7.48 trillion won.

The reported earnings surpassed market predictions, with analysts estimating an average net profit of 709 billion won, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data arm of Yonhap News Agency.
