Samsung Electronics to Discuss 2024 Strategies Amid AI Boom

Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. will convene its key executive-level meetings this month to outline business strategies for the upcoming year, as the artificial intelligence (AI) sector continues to expand, industry sources revealed Tuesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean technology giant's device experience (DX) division will conduct its meeting from December 16 to 17. This session will be led by President Roh Tae-moon, who was recently appointed as co-chief executive officer in November, sharing the leadership role with Vice Chairman Jun Young-hyun.

The device solutions (DS) division will hold its own strategic meeting on December 18, under the guidance of Vice Chairman Jun Young-hyun. These meetings are part of Samsung Electronics' routine biannual strategy sessions, traditionally held in June and December.

The DX division, responsible for the company's mobile, TV, and home appliance sectors, is anticipated to deliberate on strategies for the forthcoming Galaxy S26 flagship smartphone. Meanwhile, the DS division, which focuses on Samsung's semiconductor business, will likely address the escalating demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM).
