Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. announced that it has recruited two experts in artificial intelligence (AI) and data engineering to bolster its AI capabilities within its semiconductor division. The company aims to integrate advanced AI technologies to improve efficiency and productivity in chip design, process technology, and manufacturing.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Han Bo-hyung, a professor at Seoul National University renowned for his expertise in deep learning and vision AI, has been appointed to spearhead the development of AI models tailored for semiconductor research and development. Additionally, Hahn Tai-rin, a specialist in data engineering, will focus on constructing AI-ready data systems to support these initiatives.

Samsung's strategy involves expanding AI applications across its core semiconductor operations. The company, recognized as the world's largest memory chipmaker, emphasizes its commitment to recruiting top talent in AI and data engineering. This move is part of a broader effort to leverage expertise across the organization and enhance its AI capabilities on a companywide scale.
