Seoul: Samsung Electro-Mechanics reported a remarkable increase in its second-quarter net profit, reaching 328.3 billion won (US$227.2 million), marking a 139.2 percent rise compared to the same period last year. This significant growth highlights the company's expanding market presence and operational efficiency in the electrical components sector.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company, known for producing high-end multilayer ceramic capacitors, disclosed in a regulatory filing that its operating profit for the quarter was 440.4 billion won. This is a substantial increase from the 213 billion won recorded in the previous year. Additionally, sales for the quarter climbed 24.2 percent, reaching 3.45 trillion won.
The reported earnings aligned with market expectations, as analysts had predicted a net profit of approximately 326.5 billion won, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. This performance underscores Samsung Electro-Mechanics' robust financial health and its ability to meet market forecasts.
