Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. announced its collaboration with KT Corp's entertainment arm to enhance streaming content on its smart televisions. Samsung aims to enrich its Samsung TV Plus platform, a free ad-supported streaming service, through this partnership.
According to Yonhap News Agency, KT Studio Genie will provide its content to Samsung TV Plus, bringing select Genie TV Originals to a wider international audience. This collaboration intends to expand the reach of Korean programs beyond domestic borders. Notable titles set for international release include the drama "Lies Hidden in My Garden," the comedy "New Recruit," and the romantic drama "Dear Hyeri."
Samsung's vice president for visual display, Kim Yong-su, emphasized the partnership's alignment with Samsung TV Plus' mission to deliver quality content globally. He highlighted the ease of access and the free availability of these Korean stories to viewers worldwide.
Samsung TV Plus, currently operational in approximately 30 countries, offers users access to around 3,500 channels and 66,000 video-on-demand titles, marking a significant presence in the global streaming market.
