Seoul: Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and his Venezuelan counterpart, Felix Plasencia, engaged in a phone conversation on Wednesday to discuss cooperation and recovery efforts following recent earthquakes in Venezuela, as reported by Seoul's foreign ministry.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Cho extended condolences to the victims of the earthquakes that occurred in Venezuela in June, which resulted in over 6,000 fatalities. He pledged South Korea's support for Venezuela's recovery initiatives. The ministers explored ways to enhance cooperation in sectors such as the economy and agreed to establish communication channels to facilitate future dialogues.

Cho also requested the Venezuelan government to ensure the safety of South Korean nationals residing in Venezuela, highlighting the importance of maintaining their security.
