Seoul: The government announced plans to provide US$500,000 in funds through the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to address the humanitarian crisis arising from the territorial dispute between Cambodia and Thailand. This initiative aims to alleviate the hardships faced by residents near the conflict area and assist them in resuming normalcy in their lives, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the escalating armed conflict, rooted in a long-standing territorial disagreement between Thailand and Cambodia, has resulted in the displacement of over 500,000 individuals along the shared border. The humanitarian situation has prompted international intervention, including efforts to remove landmines, following a ceasefire agreement reached by the two nations in early December.
