S. Korea to Participate in G20 Finance Ministers’ Meeting in South Africa

Seoul: South Korea plans to participate in the third Group of 20 (G20) meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors set to take place this week in South Africa, the finance ministry said Tuesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Choi Ji-young, the deputy minister for international affairs, has departed for Durban to attend the two-day event starting Thursday, the ministry said.

The deputy minister is expected to emphasize the importance of international cooperation in the face of growing economic uncertainties and other issues, including the need to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) to improve productivity.

Choi will also attend an outreach session of the fourth meeting of Group of Seven (G7) finance ministers taking place on the sidelines of the event, the ministry added.
