Seoul: South Korea on Friday raised its travel alert for the capital city and a southwestern city of Burkina Faso to a level advising its nationals to leave the country, citing a worsening security situation amid growing terrorist attacks. A Level 3 travel warning, the second highest of the four-scale alert system, will be applied to the capital Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso in the southwest, starting at 5 p.m. Friday, the foreign ministry said in a release.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the latest travel alert revision for the two cities means a Level 3 warning, which advises South Korean citizens to leave the area and those planning to visit to cancel their trips, will apply to all of Burkina Faso. The two cities are where the majority of South Korean nationals are staying.
