Florence: South Korea is set to send a research probe to the region of space between Earth and the Moon in 2031 to observe solar activity, the country's space agency said Tuesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) announced its intentions to unveil these plans at the academic conference of the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR), which is scheduled to run until Sunday in Florence, Italy. COSPAR was established in 1958 to foster international cooperation in space science and the exchange of research data across borders.

KASA also revealed its plans to hold one-on-one meetings with other countries' space agencies, including NASA from the United States and ESA from Europe. The discussions will focus on potential cooperation in areas such as lunar exploration, the development of space telescopes, and advancements in space sciences.
