Seoul: The government has initiated a public-private task force to encourage South Korean companies to engage in next-generation aircraft development projects led by prominent global manufacturers.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) announced that an inaugural meeting of the task force took place in Seoul, attended by government officials, representatives from relevant companies, and aerospace experts. The task force aims to explore comprehensive support measures from the government to enhance the technical capabilities of local firms and attract investments, while serving as a negotiating body for these companies in the aerospace sector.
The establishment of this public-private partnership follows predictions that global aircraft manufacturers, including Boeing Co. and Airbus SE, will launch initiatives to develop next-generation commercial aircraft in the upcoming years. KASA anticipates that these projects may commence fully around 2030 and has committed to assisting local companies in becoming integral components of the manufacturing supply chain.
