Gyeongju: South Korea and the United States are unlikely to finalize a deal in their ongoing tariff negotiations during this week's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) gathering, a senior presidential official announced. The meeting is taking place in the southeastern city of Gyeongju, where President Lee Jae Myung and U.S. President Donald Trump are scheduled for talks on Wednesday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Third Deputy National Security Adviser Oh Hyun-joo conveyed these remarks during a meeting with foreign media. Oh noted the current progress in the negotiations, suggesting that reaching a final agreement at the event might be challenging. The discussions are set to occur on the sidelines of the APEC gathering, where both leaders are expected to address several bilateral and regional issues.
