Seoul: Diplomats from South Korea and the Netherlands have engaged in discussions to enhance cooperation in addressing emerging security challenges, specifically focusing on cybersecurity and the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in military applications, as stated by Seoul's foreign ministry.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the discussions were part of a security consultative dialogue held in The Hague on Monday. The meeting was attended by Youn Jong-kwon, South Korea's ambassador for international cybersecurity affairs, and Wouter Jurgens, the director for security policy at the Dutch foreign ministry. The dialogue aimed to explore concrete methods for the two countries to collaborate more effectively in tackling cybersecurity threats and managing the responsible use of AI in military operations.

Both parties committed to continuing joint efforts to enhance international coordination in these areas. They emphasized the increasing interconnection of security issues in the Indo-Pacific region and Europe. Traditional security concerns, such as the nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction, were also part of the discussions, highlighting the comprehensive nature of the dialogue.
