Seoul: Ryu Seung-ryong has been cast in a new Disney+ series based on the best-selling novel "The Miracles of the Namiya General Store," the global streaming service said Thursday. Disney+ revealed that the Korean fantasy drama series, adapted from Japanese novelist Keigo Higashino's book, is slated for release next year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the plot revolves around three young criminals who seek refuge in an abandoned general store and begin to respond to letters seeking advice from the past. Ryu will portray the owner of the general store. The series will also feature actors Kim Hye-yoon, Moon Sang-min, Go Ah-sung, and Park Hee-sun. Additionally, Yum Jung-ah, Yeom Hye-ran, and Jung Chae-yeon are set to make special appearances in the series.
The project will be helmed by Director Park Young-ju, known for directing the 2024 film "Citizen of a Kind," who will oversee both the screenplay and direction.
