Seoul: The leader of the ruling Democratic Party underscored the significance of the South Korea-U.S. alliance during a meeting with the acting U.S. envoy to Seoul. The discussions focused on enhancing the alliance between the two nations.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Rep. Jung Chung-rae held talks with acting U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Kevin Kim at the National Assembly. Jung also referenced President Lee Jae Myung's prior request for former U.S. President Donald Trump to act as a "peacemaker" in resolving the inter-Korean issue. Jung reiterated the importance of maintaining a harmonious alliance to improve relations both within the Korean Peninsula and with the U.S.
