Kuala lumpur: The Registrar of Societies Malaysia (ROS): has stressed that it does not intervene in the internal affairs of any political party or registered organisation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, ROS stated that any internal disputes are the responsibility of the organisations themselves and should be resolved in accordance with their respective constitutions. The ROS refuted allegations made by the Malaysian Indian People's Party (MIPP) of misconduct regarding its decision on the organisation's internal issues.
All decisions, as highlighted by the ROS, are made strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Societies Act 1966, the organisation's constitution, and applicable administrative procedures, after thorough scrutiny of documents and representations submitted. The ROS further emphasised that any allegations of abuse of power or undue influence are unfounded and affirmed its willingness to fully cooperate with the authorities if required.
Previously, it was reported that MIPP founder S Santharasekaran had filed a complaint with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission against ROS director-general Datuk Mohd Zulfikar Ahmad. The complaint involved alleged abuse of power concerning the issuance of conflicting letters related to the party. However, Mohd Zulfikar denied the allegations, asserting that the ROS' actions were based on the results of investigations and the evidence submitted to the department.
