Seoul: A court in Seoul has sentenced retired Army Major General Noh Sang-won to two years in prison for his involvement in the collection of personal information of military intelligence officers related to last year's martial law. The ruling was handed down by the Seoul Central District Court on Monday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Noh Sang-won, who previously served as the commander of the Defense Intelligence Command (DIC), was found guilty of gathering sensitive data on officers, an action linked to the imposition of martial law. In addition to the prison sentence, the court ordered Noh to forfeit 24.9 million won, equivalent to approximately US$17,000, for accepting bribes from subordinate officers.
