Seoul: Renault Korea Motors Co., the South Korean unit of France's Renault S.A., announced that its sales experienced a significant decline in July compared to the previous year, as demand weakened both domestically and internationally. The automaker reported selling 3,030 vehicles last month, which represents a 58.2 percent decrease from the same period last year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, domestic sales decreased by 57.4 percent year-on-year to 1,704 units, while overseas sales plummeted by 59.2 percent to 1,326 units. Despite the downturn, Renault Korea expanded its export lineup by shipping its flagship E-segment crossover, Filante, for the first time. The company aims to diversify its offerings beyond its existing Arkana and Grand Koleos models.
In a recent development, Renault Korea exported a total of 847 vehicles from Masan Port on South Korea's southeastern coast to Latin America. This shipment included 220 Filante crossovers, 418 Arkana SUVs, and 209 Grand Koleos SUVs, indicating the company's strategic efforts to strengthen its presence in international markets.
