Seoul: The presidential office announced plans to abolish audits on government policies and expand incentive programs to encourage proactive work among public officials. Kang Hoon-sik, the presidential chief of staff, introduced measures to support active public administration and revitalize the civil service community.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kang stated that the Board of Audit and Inspection will revise laws in the first half of next year to better protect civil servants by strengthening regulations against the abuse of authority. Kang emphasized that charges of abuse should not serve as a tool for political retaliation, aiming to ensure public officials can work with confidence.

This announcement followed a declaration from the prime minister's office regarding the formation of a task force. The task force will investigate potential illegal activities or misconduct by public officials linked to former President Yoon Suk Yeol's attempted martial law last December.
