Brussels: President Lee Jae Myung will embark on a European tour this month, which includes attendance at the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Evian, France, as announced by a senior presidential official on Friday. The trip is scheduled from June 9 to June 18 and will cover Belgium, Italy, and the Vatican.

According to Yonhap News Agency, National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac confirmed that President Lee's participation in the G7 summit, slated for June 15-17, is by invitation from the G7 members. The journey will commence with a visit to Brussels on June 9-10, where President Lee will engage in separate summit discussions with the leaders of Belgium and the European Union.

Following the visit to Belgium, President Lee will proceed to Italy from June 11-13 for a state visit at the invitation of President Sergio Mattarella. The agenda includes a summit with President Mattarella and subsequent talks with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

The final leg of the tour will see President Lee at the Vatican from June 14-15 for a meeting with Pope Leo XIV. This will be followed by his participation in the G7 summit in France from June 16-17.
