Police: Police said Tuesday they have detected and blocked online sales of a popular seasoning blend sold by U.S. grocery chain Trader Joe's due to poppy seeds containing prohibited substances.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Seoul Mapo Police Station discovered listings for "Everything but the Bagel Sesame" on Karrot, an online peer-to-peer marketplace in South Korea. The import of this product has been banned in South Korea following confirmation by the National Forensic Service that it contained trace amounts of morphine and codeine, narcotic substances found in its poppy seeds.

Police investigations revealed that the sellers had brought the seasoning into the country as a travel souvenir and later listed it on platforms such as Karrot. The individuals involved have been booked on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

Working in coordination with Karrot, police have removed related posts and implemented a "Transaction Restricted" alert for users attempting to list the item. A police official warned that both sellers and buyers could face criminal charges.
