PM Suggests Investigation Into Ballot Shortage During Seoul Elections

Seoul: Prime Minister Kim Min-seok stated that a parliamentary investigation or an independent counsel probe might be necessary to investigate the unprecedented shortage of ballots at several polling stations in Seoul during Wednesday's local elections.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim emphasized the importance of addressing this issue, describing it as a significant challenge to South Korea's democracy. He expressed his commitment to using all available tools to uncover the truth and ensure accountability. Kim asserted that the shortage "can never be overlooked" and pledged to hold those responsible accountable for the incident.

Kim further elaborated on his intentions by stating, "I will order the truth of this incident be revealed through all possible means and measures, including an investigation, and hold those responsible strictly accountable." He also highlighted the potential need for a parliamentary investigation or a special prosecutor probe to uncover the truth and improve the electoral system if necessary.
