Seoul:Prime Minister Han Seong-sook met with U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Michelle Steel to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation and strengthening the alliance between the two nations.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Prime Minister Han highlighted the expansion of the partnership beyond security, encompassing areas such as the economy and culture. She urged Ambassador Steel to actively advance these bilateral ties during her tenure.

Han expressed hopes for increased economic cooperation and mutual investment between Seoul and Washington, with a focus on achieving greater outcomes in advanced industries such as shipbuilding, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence.

Ambassador Steel committed to building a stronger alliance by enhancing cooperation in areas including security and investment. She underscored the deep-rooted nature of the alliance, describing it as "blood-forged." Steel also acknowledged South Korea's significant economic growth and its rising cultural influence on the global stage since her departure from the country decades ago.
