PEA expands electricity to agricultural areas, Phase 2, in Phichit Province.
On July 17, 2024, Mr. Supachai Ek-un, Governor of the Provincial Electricity Authority, presided over the opening ceremony of the project to expand electricity to agricultural areas, Phase 2, with executives and heads of government agencies joining the ceremony at Ban Na Subdistrict, Wachirabarami District, Phichit Province.
The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), under the Ministry of Interior, is committed to developing and expanding electricity to allow people to access basic public utilities, especially in agricultural areas and remote areas, to ensure that every household has access to electricity. PEA has implemented the Agricultural Electricity Expansion Project, Phase 2 (Kor Kor 2), in accordance with the Cabinet resolution on May 31, 2016, with the goal of expanding electricity to farmers in 74 provinces, with the project period of 2016-2020, totaling 40,600 farmers. PEA has expanded electricity to a total of 55,876 f
armers, or 137.63 percent, exceeding the set target.
For Ban Na Subdistrict, Wachirabarami District, Phichit Province, PEA has carried out the construction of the expansion of the high-voltage circuit area of ??35.18 circuits-kilometers and the low-voltage circuit area of ??65.199 circuits-kilometers to support the electricity demand of farmers in the area. 775 farmers have benefited from the expansion. It also helps reduce production costs and raises the standard of living of farmers to be sustainable. In 2024-2028, PEA will carry out the project to expand the electricity area for agricultural farming, Phase 3, to raise the standard of living and quality of life of farmers.
