Seoul: South Korean food company Paldo announced its collaboration with K-pop sensation BTS to introduce a new range of ramyeon products in the United States next week, marking a significant step in its global expansion strategy.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the new products will be marketed under the brand name "ARIH," an archaic Korean term signifying "fine" or "beautiful." BTS was actively involved in the development process from the initial planning stage, taking part in naming the brand, profiling flavors, and designing the packaging. The "H" in ARIH's English spelling symbolizes the core values of harmony in everyday life, happiness, and health.
Paldo plans to launch seven varieties of its "Modern Noodle" stir-fried ramyeon line at Walmart stores across the U.S. on April 24. The products are expected to debut in the domestic market in late May, followed by a broader global rollout.
A company official highlighted that Walmart's extensive online and offline distribution networks make it a strategic platform for accelerating market penetration in the U.S. market.
Additionally, hy Co., a company in which Paldo holds a 40.83 percent stake, has teamed up with BTS to introduce seven postbiotic energy drinks and seven dual-biotic soda products in the U.S. market.
