According to Yonhap News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on August 9 that North Korea plans to deploy between 30,000 to 50,000 workers to Russia. This move could signal deeper cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow. On August 11, North Korea condemned Japan's latest defense paper, accusing it of justifying a military buildup. The following day, reports emerged that the FBI is investigating a North Korean IT staffer allegedly working for a U.S. government agency, raising concerns about potential security breaches.

In military developments, the South Korean military confirmed that North Korea fired at least one ballistic missile toward the East Sea, prompting the South Korean presidential office to label the act as a provocation and call for an immediate halt.
