North Korea Reaffirms Commitment to Russia Amid Rising Border Tensions

Seoul:North Korea has emphasized its strong relationship with Russia, describing it as "invincible" during a diplomatic event. This was reported by Pyongyang's state media as the two nations marked the 78th anniversary of their diplomatic relations with a reception hosted by the North Korean Embassy in Russia.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim Yo-jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, has expressed concerns over the "very unstable" situation at the southern border with South Korea. She mentioned that North Korea is considering resuming loudspeaker broadcasts along the border, following accusations and denials over a land mine explosion that injured South Korean soldiers.

Additionally, North Korea and Russia are exploring ways to increase educational exchanges, with recent meetings between their education ministers in Pyongyang further solidifying the deepening cooperation between the two countries. Meanwhile, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has showcased achievements in light industry during a visit to a garment and footwear exhibition, highlighting progress under his regional development policy.

In response to joint military exercises conducted by South Korea, the United States, and Japan, North Korea has issued a statement condemning these activities as "muscle flexing" by "enemy states." The North has warned of a "tit-for-tat principle based on strong power" in reaction to these exercises.

Kim Yo-jong, along with a military marshal, has also inspected border fortifications, as North Korea prepares to resume propaganda broadcasts towards South Korea. She has warned of "new counter means" at the border, signaling further tensions between the two Koreas.
