Seoul: North Korea's legislative body has enacted a new urban development law to enhance living conditions throughout the country. The move, aimed at modernizing urban environments, was confirmed by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Monday. The law, known as the "city formation and development law," was reviewed and adopted during a session of the Supreme People's Assembly's standing committee.

According to Yonhap News Agency, North Korea's meteorological sector has also embraced technological advancements by implementing an artificial intelligence-driven weather forecasting system. This innovation, reported by KCNA, is expected to improve accuracy and efficiency in weather predictions, making the process more intelligent, automated, and comprehensive.

In a bid to boost tourism, North Korea is preparing to launch a luxury cruise ship on the Taedong River, as reported on Wednesday. The Rodong Sinmun, the country's primary newspaper, disclosed that the construction of the "modern, luxurious 500-ton cruise ship" is in its final stages, capturing significant public interest.

Further regional development efforts are evident as North Korean leader Kim Jong-un recently inspected the construction site of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm, which is nearing completion. This visit, reported by KCNA on Thursday, underscores the ongoing focus on regional growth initiatives.

Meanwhile, tensions remain high on the military front as North Korea criticized recent joint military exercises conducted by the United States and South Korea. KCNA commented on Friday that these drills, including the Silent Shark exercise and other operations, aim to deter Pyongyang.

Additionally, North Korea's engagement in friendly sports exchanges with Russia marks a strengthening of ties between the two nations. North Korea's national women's football team emerged victorious against Russia with a 5-2 win in a friendly match at Kim Il Sung Stadium, witnessed by local spectators and members of the Russian Embassy, as noted by KCNA.
