Wonsan:Seoul North Korea launched approximately a dozen short-range ballistic missiles toward the East Sea, as reported by the South Korean military. The missiles were fired from the Wonsan area at around 1230 p.m., with ongoing analysis to determine their flight distances and other specifications, According to Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Office of National Security at the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae convened an emergency meeting following the missile launches. During the meeting, officials from the defense ministry and the JCS were present to analyze and assess the implications of North Korea's latest provocation.

In a related development, the unification ministry announced discussions with relevant government agencies about potentially co-sponsoring this year's U.N. General Assembly resolution on North Korean human rights. A decision on the matter is expected soon, though specifics remain under consideration at this stage.

Separately, South Korea's spy agency suggested that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un may have discussed Pyongyang's stance on potential talks with the United States during his recent visit to China. This assessment was shared during a closed-door parliamentary intelligence committee audit, as noted by lawmakers from both the ruling Democratic Party and the main opposition People Power Party.
