Seoul: The dark thriller "No Other Choice" emerged as the Best Film at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, with the film's director, Park Chan-wook, receiving the Best Director accolade, while lead actress Son Ye-jin was honored with the Best Actress award.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the film is adapted from the 1997 satirical thriller novel "The Ax" by American novelist Donald E. Westlake. It narrates the gripping tale of a desperate father who embarks on a personal battle for survival after losing his long-held job. This marks director Park's fourth victory in the Best Director category at the festival. Lee Sung-min clinched the Best Supporting Actor award for his portrayal of a rival to the film's protagonist.

Hyun Bin was awarded Best Actor for his compelling depiction of independence fighter Ahn Jung-geun in the historical drama "Harbin." In the category of Best Supporting Actress, Park Ji-hyeon was recognized for her role as Mi-joo, a mysterious cellist entangled in a complex relationship, in the erotic thriller "Hidden Face."

The Best New Actor accolade was awarded to Ahn Bo-hyun for his performance in the romantic comedy "Pretty Crazy," where he plays a man dealing with a woman who transforms into a different personality at night. Kim Do-yeon took home the Best New Actress award for her role in the comedic film "Idiot Girls and School Ghost: School Anniversary."

The Blue Dragon Film Awards, regarded as one of the most prestigious film honors in South Korea, were established in 1963. Though they were paused in 1973, the awards made a comeback in 1990 and have been held annually since then.
