Seoul: NHN Corp., a prominent player in South Korea's information technology and online gaming sectors, announced a remarkable second-quarter net profit of 29.1 billion won (US$20.5 million), marking a substantial increase of 158.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating income for the April-June timeframe saw a significant boost, reaching 57.9 billion won, which is a 164.1 percent increase year-on-year. NHN Corp., which is actively involved in digital payments, entertainment, and advertisement industries, also reported a 25.3 percent rise in sales, totaling 757.9 billion won for the quarter.
The financial results were in line with market forecasts. Analysts had anticipated a net profit of around 29.3 billion won, as per a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, a financial data firm associated with Yonhap News Agency.
