Nexon Secures Overwatch Publishing Rights in South Korea Through Deal with Blizzard

Seoul: Nexon Korea Corp. announced on Monday that it has secured the rights to publish Blizzard Entertainment Inc.'s popular shooter game, Overwatch, in South Korea.

According to Yonhap News Agency, under the publishing agreement with Blizzard, Nexon will manage the PC version of Overwatch in South Korea, offering live services and content specifically customized for Korean users. The collaboration also involves recruiting talent for the Korean service, with both companies planning to reveal more details about the agreement soon.

Released in 2016, Overwatch is recognized as one of Blizzard's flagship franchises, receiving praise from critics and players alike. Kang Dae-hyun and Kim Jung-wook, co-chief executive officers of Nexon Korea, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "We are thrilled to partner with Blizzard Entertainment, the developer of the globally beloved Overwatch franchise." They further emphasized their commitment to enhancing the gaming experience by merging Blizzard's development capabilities with Nexon's expertise in live service operations.
